English Language Arts Strategies

Outcome

  • By Spring 2024, all students with disabilities (SWD) in grades 1-3 will meet their within-year growth target on iReady Reading Assessment.
  • By Spring 2024, students in grades 1-3 will increase their one-year reading growth from Fall/Winter to Spring on their iReady Reading Assessment from 66% to 71%

Strategies

  • Improve daily, systematic, explicit instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology in the core language arts block. (HLP 2)
  • Increase use of data (e.g., iReady, CORE, PASS, PRF, WIDA) to plan instruction and monitor progress for students demonstrating risk. (HLP 2-5)

 

Mathematics Strategies

Outcome

  • By Spring 2024, the percentage of students accessing the advanced math curriculum will increase by 5% in grades 3-6 as measured by the math SOLs
  • By Spring 2024, the percentage of students (1-6) demonstrating expected screener within-year growth will increase by at least 6%
  • By Spring 2024, the percentage of ESOL students demonstrating expected screener within-year growth will increase by at least 5%
  • By Spring 2024, the percentage of Sped students demonstrating expected screener within-year growth will increase by at least 8%

Strategies

  • Increase teachers implementation strategies related to Shift 8: from looking for correct answers towards revealing student thinking
  • Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention

 

Wellness Strategies

Outcome

  • By Spring 2024, students in grades K,1,3,4, and 6 will produce a reflection piece connected to a POG goal
  • By Spring 2024, students in grades 2 and 5 will conduct a Presentation of Learning based on their POG work and reflection pieces

Strategies

  • Provide PD on POG and POG POL to all staff
  • Host class/team reflection sessions and POG POL presentations
